ctxfihlp.exe is a process that many Windows users have recently found running on their system. What is it? Can it be disabled?

ctxfihlp.exe is usually added by the installation of a Creative Labs X-Fi sound card. This particular process provides the help functionality for your card. This is considered to be a non-essential program, so it can be safely disabled. However, Creative Labs, for some reason, has set ctxfihlp.exe to run every time your computer starts up.

To disable it, just follow the steps in our MSCONFIG tutorial

If you do not have a Creative Lans X-Fi card or a similar sound card by Creative Labs, then this file might be spyware, attemtping to masquerade as the Creative Labs software. If this is the case, we suggest that you go through the steps in our Get Rid of Spyware guide, just to make sure that it is not spyware.
