If ZoneAlarm or an anti-virus program has alerted you to the presence of a file called glb1a2b.exe, then you may have a spyware infection.

glb1a2b.exe is a file that was left over by some older version of Ad-Aware. It was claimed that this file was just a renamed copy of the unwise.exe uninstaller. For some reason, this file was left in the Temp directory on your computer.

However, recent evidence suggests that spyware makers have taken advantage of this mistake, and have created spyware that uses a file of the same name in the same directory!

If you have an older version of Ad-Aware, the first step you should take is uninstall Ad-Aware, download the latest version directly from their website, and re-install it. If the glb1a2b.exe file is still there, then you most certainly have a spware infection.

To get rid of the infection, go through the steps in our Spyware Removal guide . These steps will clean your PC and protect you from further infection.

Instructions on downloading the latest version of Ad-Aware are also in this guide
