Goto Add/Remove Programs and uninstall any Java entries. After uninstalling, you may wish to download and install ccleaner ( www.ccleaner.com ) run it with the default settings, reboot and then download and install the version that Zep gave you links to.

Just when i right clicked the icon at the desktop igo to properties and in the pc where java works fine I get 3 tabs: general, version and digital signature however in the pc with the problem I got only the general tab.
the heading of the window read Properties of jre-1_5_0_14 windows-i586-p-itw.
What could it be the reason that when I want to install java clicking the icon on the desktop it seems that it will be seen but at once dissapears.
Any other help

thanks

mloo55,

One more thing try : Clear the java cache installing java should be a simple task others have had problems too... ccleaner may have already done it but go ahead & follow instructions at link provided
