Norton keeps telling me it is a medium risk, but Norton can't get rid of it. What should I do?

Just to let you know I have followed all of the recommended steps to locate and remove malware before I posted here. I've been following that regimen for several years, and I do it regularly at least once a week. This is the first time all of the above including Norton can't remove this bug. I am stumped. Please help if you have any ideas. Thanks. Gary

Thanks, but this is wierd because it talks about several versions of Windows, but not Vista. That's what I have.

In Vista Click Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features > double-click Add or Remove Programs.

Now you are starting to understand my frustration. I hate to say it, but back before I got to this point, that was the first and most obvious thing and I've tried it a dozen times, and am starting to doubt my own intelligence, but I promise you that SecurityRisk.NavHelper is not on the list of programs or that rascal would have been gone a long time ago. I've run search after search of my C Drive for every variation of that name I can think of, and I'm not able to find it (obviously Norton can find it to scan it), but I can't find it. Question: could it be in a hidden file or something? A follow up would then be how would I go about searching in hidden files and folders?

Double click on My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View tab > click radio button to 'show hidden files and folders'' > OK. This is for XP. hope it's nearly the same for Vista.
