First of all, I want to thank you in advance for such a great service, and for all of your help! It is very kind of you. I hope I am explaining this well enough. I am totally lost and overwhelmed.

I am at my wits end. I found the tutorial on removing spyware, adware, and web browser hijackers. My PC is really messed up right now. I keep getting phony security alert pop-ups, and there is a little icon on my task bar related to these alerts, but I can't get rid of it. My taskmanager is disabled, and my PC is really slow right now.

Last night, I tried starting with step one, but the Panda website won't load the scanner. It wouldn't even attempt loading on my AT&T Yahoo browser, because of the ActiveX being disabled (I am unable to reinstate it, and my internet options button in the control panel no longer works). I switched to my Firefox browser, and was able to start the loading process. It gets to 100%, then gives me an error message saying it could not load the scanner. I moved on to Housecall, and it started scanning, but when I came back from the other room, my browser with the scan had disappeared?! When I tried to start again, it just remained "idle" and never would start.

So, then I thought I would try the spybot-search and destroy and come back to step 1 later. Well, that found a bunch of stuff, including the fake security alert problem, but it didn't delete that problem, since it is still there. I tried the Hijack program because I found the tutorial for removing the "System Integrity Scan Wizard". Well, the Help2Go detective found two malicious files, and I "fixed them" according to the tutorial. I still have the problem I wrote about above, but it could be another type of spyware. I don't know how many of these bad programs are on my PC!

I just attempted to go back to step 1, and once again Panda is not loading , and I am getting an error message. Do I skip step one, and go to step 2? Do I use a different virus scan? I have the AT&TYahoo anti-virus that comes with my DSL.

Oh, here is my log from the Hijack scan. Once again, I wanted to go from step one through to the end, but for some reason I can't execute step one:

Now, my PC won't even allow me to install Windows Updates. I have decided just to save the photos/documents I want, and then re-install the operating system and everything else. Start with a clean slate.
