To begin with I cannot download the information required before I post on this board, because my computer will not resopnd. When I boot my computer, I get all my icons and personal settings, then the mouse with an hour glass stays on the screen flashing repeatedly nonstop. I cannot go into the Task Manager, or open the Control Panel. I cannot open any programs or the Internet. I can go into the START menu and view all the programs, I just cannot open them. What can I do, how can I start to fix this problem? There is nothing I need to backup on this comptuer.
Did this just start happening or has it been doing it for awhile? Can you start in safe mode? Try tapping the f8 key during start up to see if it starts in safe mode. Just before it finishes booting (it could take a couple of minutes), you will be given the option to hit N to go into system restore. If it is a recent problem, I would go into system restore and reset the computer to a time before the problem. Just follow the on screen directions and pick a date in bold print before you had problems. The computer will reset and reboot. Charlie
