is there a reason you think files are missing?

is there certain error messages appearing? and what are they?

A good place to start:

Click start
click 'my computer'
right-click 'C:'
choose 'Properties'
choose 'tools' tab
choose 'error checking'
2 options are available, "automatically fix file system errors" abd "scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors". check both of these boxes, and click "start"

you will see a warning saying it could not be performed 'blah blah blah'... click 'yes'

(note, if you have any protection like 'spybot'etc, it will detect a change to boot settings, allow this change)

Restart your computer.

once your computer restarts, it will go thru a 5 stage check.
stages 1-3 will take only a few minutes, but 4 and 5 can take several hours depending on disk size, so make sure you can do without the PC for most of the day. If it does find any errors, accept any changes it wishes to make.

Post back with a more detailed question if this does not help you Wink

i went through "automatically fix file system errors" abd "scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" and no msg appeared although it had to run overnight.

When i paste excel into word i get a msg that "windows is trying to configure msxp prof with front page" If I cancel this and several more msgs eventually it will be pasted.

However, if I close the document and re-open, the object frame is blank but does appear in print mode.

Can you help please?
