Thanks for looking! I need help with a printing problem. I was emailed some .doc attachments, and each one is about 3 pages long. When I print the document, it prints ONE sheet, and all 3 pages print at the same time (all on top of each other..). It looks like I just put the same sheet of paper in there over and over again...Has anyone ever had this problem?

When I print preview, it shows all 3 pages, and looks like it will print fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance-

Clint

Are you asking for 3 copies of the 3 pages by any chance? it sounds like your printer settings ahve been changed to or from'collate' to another setting...

one setting wil print the pages :

1 2 3
1 2 3
1 2 3

the other will print

1 1 1
2 2 2
3 3 3

Make sure this setting is correct before cancelling the print...

Not best practice to send anyone a .doc document. It's the working 'draft' format that Word creates so that it can reload it as it was saved. Unless it was created in Wordpad, if the receiving computer doesn't have Word installed, it won't open or it'll be garbled. Also, if it was sent from a corporate computer, attached .doc files are often scanned by antivirus systems that can remove certain parts of the file identified as suspicious, even when they aren't.

Depending on the content, ask for it to be sent in a different format, for example, as an .rtf file. There are other options available in the Save as... command.

Have you tried creating a 3 page document of your own and printing that? At least you'll see if it's a Word problem or the printer setup. If the problem persists try reinstalling printer drivers.

Alternatively, open in Word amend it slightly, then save under a different format - rtf maybe. Then try printing it again.
