I must've screwed something up because I no longer have a default email service. What did happen was I installed Windows Live Messenger and that was a total bust! Probably because my computer's memory and hard drive are so small. So I uninstalled the Live Messenger and apparently I also erased Live Hotmail, my email service. Is there some free software out there that I can download to make this happen?

Open internet explorer and then click "tools" then "internet options". In there, click the "programs" tab and under the "E-mail:" drop down list select "Windows Live Mail".

"it didn't work" is a little vague. Was the live mail option not listed in the "E:mail" section? Did you get an error message?

What happens when I hit the Start button and then Email is: internet options opens up just as if I had hit Tools and then Internet Options. Yes on the programs page Windows Hotmail is selected. It's not a major deal but it was a nice convenience when I had it. Somewhere, sometime, I think I might've tweaked something in the control panel that I failed to annotate. I think I'll back-track and do some hunting there next.
