Hi Barbe Smile

If you use the classic log on screen try just typing administrator with no password. On the windows welcome screen press alt+ctrl+del twice to get the classic log in screen then try just typing administrator with no password.

If that doesn't work you will need to ask your friend if they set an administrator password and try that.

hi again Smile

Unfortunately no. We don't help recovering passwords here. Since its the internet, we can't be 100% sure that the people looking for the passwords are the owners of the machines in question.

If you still want to try and get it, you would have to take the machine to a computer shop and see if someone could help you with it.

Good luck! Smile

reinstalling would definitely reset the accounts...but then you get into licensing issues. The rule is 1 installation per cd key. You have to enter the cd key on any installation, even if you're reinstalling.

Again you're stuck getting a hold of the friend for the information (now disks instead of a password) that came with the computer or purchasing another copy of xp in order to reinstall it Sad
