OSC, CDM, and everyone else. I'm just curious as to what your rules are when posting on your board. I'm just guessing that it's generally your standard "net etiquette" from what I can tell by this forum. Altho, sometimes I find myself holding back some info that I may have just because i'm not sure if the posters are allowed to discuss it or not. Take the case about the guy asking about "stealthing" in the forum. Questions like this one send a red flag to me and I just didn't know if I should respond to it or not since I don't know the boundaries of this forum. Would someone please mind clearing me up on this? Thanks.. |

Hey Partie
Pretty much here it seems to be up to the person posting, I have noticed though in the time i've been here that the concensus doesn't help with hacking and doesn't encourage piracy but does assist with some p2p problems. _________________ To do is to be - Socrates

I'm open to anything, as long as it doesn't get me in trouble
I just ask that we try to keep in mind the main idea behind Help2Go: helping people with their computer problems.
For instance, I don't want anyone to help each other out with piracy. My experience is that once a board starts talking about piracy, it turns into a piracy forum. My feeling is that if you want to pirate, fine, but do it on your own website.
If you want to learn about hacking, that's cool, as long as it's white-hat. There are people on this board with extensive knowledge of firewalls, routers, and snooping tools. If you ask how you can setup a port-scan of your own PC, that's cool. If you want to learn how to setup an IDS on your own network, OK. But if you want to learn how to be a script-kiddie, or how to scan for vulnerable hosts, this isn't the place. It depends on the question, and the reputation of the person asking.
P2P apps are legal, and so I don't see any problem with discussing those, as long the discussion is kept in the legal realm (which is easy to do).
So basically, if you ask a question about something illegal, that's frowned upon and the post might get deleted. If you ask a question that offends most people's morality, it will be allowed, and it's up to the people on the board to decide whether to answer (the "blagged a job" post is a good example).
Hope this clears things up... _________________ Oscar Sodani

I agree... this is a family forum, and should have bad content on it. Secondly OSC, i believe it is the responsibility of the posters, so if someone tells people how to burn protected DVDs if the fedz come, your innocent, if u have the right disclaimer. It should contain these key phrases:
The posts on this site are the sole responsibility of the posters.
Help2go is in no way responsible for the use of this site, or of the content within
If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use these forums
I am not resposible for the remarks, or things that members say
The content of these posts does not nescessarily reflect the views of HELP2GO or other affiliates, or of any related persons or companies.
This is how hacking sites stay in buisness, along with hacking forums.
for some examples visit:
hackerthreads.org
and
jinxhackwear.com
but as long as you have a good disclaimer, you are ok. |

Laws are changing all the time. Recent laws in some places are placing the onus of content on the moderators of forums and chat channels. MSN are killing off most unmoderated chat channels. eg All Australian MSN unmoderated channels are closed. _________________ Take control of your life. Leave others to control their own. |
