Hai... Friends....
In the message board underneath the members names the joining date, number of posts and points are mentioned.
I would like to know about the 'Points'. What are these ? How they are calculated ? What will happen somebody gets more or less ? Why one should earn the points ?
Please somebody may clarify ......

On the bottom right of each posting you will see either No Rating or a gold Astrix.
Click on either and a rating window will open. You can rate a reply to a question here. There are several rating levels, the highest being a moderator's recommendation. If you look at your original question I rated it because the question was very relevant.
Each time a person recommends an answer the poster recieves points. The more points the higher the status you can have eg guru etc.

the rating feature seems a little difficult, i think you should do it all in the same window, all you do is click, and thats it, kind of like how they do the flash player on http://launch.yahoo.com |

It seems this rating is somewhat a difficult proposition. How can I rate my posting and as far as I am concerned, how can I rate a reply.
So, I decide to leave the rating BLANK. Let somebody, or atleast the moderator decide the rating of my posting or reply.

You are not allowed to rate your own posts or replies, only the posts or replies of other people. This prevents abuse of the points system.
