and here are a couple more of my picks

For creating installer packages: Inno Setup (free)

To have your own Email Server:
Mercury Mailer (free)

Just thinking for more advanced user possibly www.smoothwall.org for a firewall system its free and not too hard to configure and turns old pc into full state inspecting firewall and router.

I like VNC suggestion but iam afraid of misuse from users which could reflect on page

I've come across a very good free dictionary/thesaurus combination (upgradable for a price) called WordWeb. It isn't web based as the name suggests. It downloads and runs from the computer. It can link to online dictionaries if desired. American and English dictionaries are supported.

As well as the meanings of words, it has tabs named:

Synonyms - Types of - Types - Part of - Similar.

So just about any information on a word is there.

Find it here: http://wordweb.info/free/ (5.16Mb download)

Osc, I would like to see Belarc added to the System Information Tool section to be found at http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html . I find that Aida is excellent for information on the components of the pc but light on the software and updates, Belarc is stronger on the software side and lighter on the components.

Do you have plans to give the Help2Go Recommended Software a more prominent place for viewing. I think this is the only thread or location to find it.

It's actually on the main index page. It's in the "Welcome to Help2Go" speach, very last paragraph. Doesn't really stick out though, but I thought i'd just point it out.

One freebie that is always missed is the Avery Wizard add on for Word. There is a wizard for most versions of word.
The wizard is a macros providing Word templates for all Avery paper products.

Another free essential for those woth DVD burners is ISO Buster http://www.smart-projects.net/isobuster/
This tool will recover files from problem DVD's

I use winimp for compression and uncompression use. I feel it is far better than winzip or 7-zip. I am presenting the main advantages below.

1. Totally a freeware
2. Small in size
3. Unless winzip, it can open rar files also. We don't need winrar or any other software to open a .rar file.

The software can be downloaded from www.simtel.net.

Thanks,
Balaji.
