I was bored today so I created a small "program" using Autoit3. What it will do is it will decompress HijackThis to a folder on your home drive (usually CSmile named Help2go (directory structure C:\help2go). It will then automatically run HijackThis with the /AUTOLOG switch to automatically create a log file for you. Unfortunately, HJT and the Logfile stay open so the program will close them automatically for you. It then copies the HJT log into your Clipboard and then opens help2go.net/detective and pastes the log into the text field. After it pastes the log into the text field it then submits the log for your viewing.

All you have to do is download the attached .zip file (h2g_hjtdet.zip) and extract the file. Once the file is extracted (h2g_hjtdet.exe) then just double click to run it. Everything else will be automatically done for you.

If you have any criticism(s) (please, make the constructive) feel free to post here.

Hope you enjoy!

P.S.
This version comes with HJT V 1.99.1 . I will try to keep this as up to date as possible. If anyone notices it running an older version than what is available please post here and I'll will update the script.

Also, if anyone would like the source to this script I'd be glad to PM it to them.

And here's another one.

This is basically the same thing but this time instead of posting it to the Help2Go Detective it automatically posts it to the spyware forum. (yeah, that's why my post is in there, 1 beta test).

It'll post with subject "My HJT log - username"

Known Issues:

If you have set the help2go website up to "remember me" (remember your logon information) or have it set to automically log you on using cookies everytime you visit the site the program will give you an error. Something about an Object error. Pay no attention to it. All you have to do is click the log out link or button on the site and then run the program again.

Other:

Please pay close attention as to how I said I only got 1 beta test in for the full effect. I don't want to use all of OSCs bandwidth just to test some script so USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

To Install:

First, you must be a registered user of the help2go website. if you are not please click the "register" link(s) found throughout the site and make sure you activate your username by clicking the link that comes to the email you used to register. After you have done that, download the file that is attached to this post and extract its contents. After you extract it you should have a file named h2g_hjtpost.exe, double click it and everything will be ready to go.

First Run:

One the very first run you SHOULD get a popup telling you that your username/password is not setup correctly. The file that you need to enter this information in will automatically open so you can edit it. The format is like such (red text is what you type in, the black text is what's already in the file when it opens)

Code:

[UserInfo]
username=[color=red]SomeUserName[/color]
password=[color=red]mypassword[/color]

Please note spacing (well, the lack thereof). If you do not enter it in like it is shown above (with no space between "username=" and your username you used to register on the site, same goes with "password=") then the script will not run correctly and you will not be logged in or able to post a HJT log. Be sure to click the "File" then "save" on the menu bar to save your changes to the file. If you have made a mistake and have saved the file you can always open C:\help2go\UserInfo.ini with notepad and make the necessary changes there.

I think that just about covers it so if anyone needs help or would like to see the source just let me know and I'll PM it to you.

P.S. Yes, today was a very boring day Sad
