Change your ID and give it only to the people you want to have it. Charlie

Unfortunately this is not uncommon and if you use Instant Messengers (IMs) you will come across people like this often.
It is best to simply delete any message and never respond.
The more you respond the more likely this person will increase her activity.
You may get some help from my website, www.whoozhe.com. It is dedicated to Online Abuse and Harassment problems. A little old but the information is still relavent.
Not all IM's are the same. Yahoo, MSN and AIM are the most popular but the most insecure and the least private.
Depending on what you use IMs for a smaller, less popular and more private one may suit you better.
I use PalTalk a lot. I can set up private rooms that require a password for people to enter.
Public rooms vary but their are plenty of family orientated ones that are run with strict behavioural rules with the Admins having full controll over their room.
With Paltalk you can also communicate with text to anyone on AIM, ICQ, MSN and Yahoo without exposing yourself to any other users on those IMs.
