Looks neat - a single EXE file that your friend/family member would run which would allow you to remotely-connect to their PC to fix their problems... without the hassle of getting them to setup a remote control program.

Haven't tried this yet, but I might set it up with my Dad's and my father-in-law's PCs - they are always asking for help... |

Looks interesting osc. It would sure help with my mother-in-laws PC. Let me know how it works, and then I'll have to figure out the instructions!! Perhaps you could remotely-connect to my PC and set it up? If you want the practice! |

the cool thing about ultravnc is, you don't even need to setup port forwarding, works without it.

I would be very interested to hear what experiences anyone/everyone has who tries this program. I have people in mind who could benefit with me being conected to their PC rather than them phoning me all the time when something goes wrong.

I use it ALL the time with quite a few people. I love it. It works on school networks and home networks without having (at least for me) to configure anything on their side. I did it on my side just because 1. I know how and 2. just to make sure I don't get dropped. All you have to do is install the viewer on your side. And all they have to do is install the server/run it/ and type a password for access then you Go to a command prompt and type...
C:\path\to\your\listener\vncviewer.exe /listen (noting space between .exe and /listen)
Once they want help. All they do is right click the vnc icon in the taskbar, select "add new client" and then type in my dynamic dns domain (you know those programs that offer local domain names like partie.dyndns.com) so they don't have to remember an IP address and especially if you have one that isn't so static. Once they initiate the "call" it automatically brings up the screen for you and you're able to do what you want with it.
I'm actually making an autoit v3 script/program that when they double click it, it'll grab log files from different programs like their antivirus logs (from mcaffee and norton and avast and avg so far) and also their windows event viewer logs and upload them via ftp to my server with their %computername%_%date% as the folder name on my ftp (since once they establish a connection their local computer name is displayed on the VNC Viewer window.
I'm also working on a wrapper for vnc so as to when it's double clicked it'll open the server on their side, setup an autologon (so they don't have to be around to logon and start the server again in case you have to restart).
I have a problem sometimes of forgetting to get the password from them so when it does restart I am able to initiate the connection (in which case you now need a password to access the remote server) and then they leave their house or go away from the computer and I'm unable to connect.
Hope this is useful.
