Hi,
I hope this is okay?
These are the first Forums that I have used that have had an Outbox in the PMs Window.
I am wondering what is a normal wait time before a message goes from the Outbox to the Sent Folder?
Would an hour be normal or a bug?
Thanks,
LH |

As I understand it, the outbox contains PMs that haven't yet been viewed by the recipient. As soon as your recipient opens the PM in their inbox, it moves from your Outbox to the Sent Box.
Make sense? _________________ Oscar Sodani

Not really but I'll accept the explanation applies to this situation.
Thanks Osc |

What does not make sense ? You send a PM, that PM is stored in your out box. When person actually views(Opens it) the PM, it will no longer be in your outbox, but in your Sent Box.
That the way it has worked for a long time. Do you have a specific problem ?

What does NOT make sense is an OUTbox is where mail is STORED in some email programs BEFORE it is ACTUALLY sent!
At the risk of alienating myself
Oversimplified and not to be argumentative:
Stage 1 - Create the email /PM (write a letter)
Stage 2 - Completed email goes to OUTBOX (like depositing in Post Box)
Stage 3 - Is sent when person logs on to Internet (picked up mail bag is now in Postal system)
Stage 4 - Received to Inbox (Delivered by Postal Carrier)
Stage 5 - email /Letter is opened and Read by Recipient
My mind works on following (literal) connections (like with Autism).
OUT might be equated with Sent but SENT is NOT the same as RECEIVED, it is what happens before RECEIVED and READ.
Sorry but I accept that the logic of the one who designed the program is less precise then it could be but it is what it is, it is their language not mine.
I certainly don't look down on them because of it.
Edit: p.s. In the Office environments I have worked in an Outbox is in the Mail Room and is where Mail sits before it is even metered. |

Yep - I agree that it's not very intuitive...
I do like the idea of seeing if a person hasn't opened your PM yet, though... _________________ Oscar Sodani

I also appreciate that I can track if a PM has been opened (/read) or not |
