    Default Error 1723 Error

    Error 1723 is an Install Shield error code. It indicates that the installation process has failed. The exact reason for this error is not known at this time.

    Has anyone seen this when installing Java on a Vista machine?

    This has been around for a long time - Vista and XP before it. The workaround on the Java site usually takes care of it.
