    Just for what it is worth...hope it saves a member some time in the future

    Try a PS2 keyboard if you can not get the OS to load at the CD ...press any key point

    I wasted 45 minutes trying to clean install WinXP Pro (it was corrupted) on a friends computer
    (fooling with CDROM drivers/ribbons etc etc)

    I was really stuck and annoyed...below is the solution

    Duh...I finally tried a PS2 keyboard and was able to catch the
    "Press any key to load the OS"

    It was an older computer and the USB keyboard was useless loading the OS (access to the BIOS was fine)....but did worked fine after the Windows install...the PS2 Keyboard worked fine and allowed the Windows install @ the boot error

    Incredibly...he gave it to me to fix from a local shop...that told him that the computer was trash and mechanically damaged because they could not reload Windows

    The shop left their WinTiny Platinum CD in the CD-ROM too
    (Yes I gave it back)

    I do not think that WinTiny Platinum CD is legal...but I leave that up to the shop?
    Maybe MS allows them...I do not know?
