    Question Cell Phones

Anyone ever heard of entering a number that you dial once a month to clean your cell phone...basically like CCleaner?? A sales guy at Verizon told my mother this and it sounds REAL fishy!!

I've never heard of anything like that. Very fishy indeed.

*228 then option 2. Got those numbers after my initial post. After a Google search, it is supposed to enhance signal strength for Verizon customers. If it does or not I don't know. I seriously think seniors have to question everything they are told when it comes to tech stuff these days.

I did some digging, and *228 is legitimate - for Verizon customers only. What it does is update the list of cell towers that your phone can connect to. By updating which towers your phone can connect to, you get the added bonus side effect that your signal strength usually improves.
