    Default Avira anti-virus detects itself

A recent signature update to Avira's anti-virus solution caused the software to detect itself as a trojan or spyware. Due to a bad update, Avira detected its own AESCRIPT.DLL file as "TR/Spy.463227".

Avira used to be one of the top dogs in security software. Many still recommend it. But many are also reconsidering that recommendation as well. Adding prechecked "crapware" to the downloads was bad enough. This had to be a total embarrassment!

They are really grasping at straws. It's a shame to say the least. Good guy gone bad.

    Just my opinion.
