    Default Staging?

Please could someone educate me. Someone has asked if a collegue of mine could do some 'staging', I feel too embarassed to ask what it means, only because I don't want to sound like a complete idiot!? Is 'staging' refering to checking a system, server trial, or somehow testing a computer in relation to running from a server??? Am I talking total jibberish? Please forgive my ignorance, could you educate me? Thanks.

Wow! That's a new one on me, too!

    Found the following link:

Now, my curiosity has gotten the best of me! Could be all of the above actually and have something to do with programming. Not sure. I'll look around more to see what I can find. Maybe one of the other members can share what they know concerning "staging".

In the context the question was asked, it sounds like..

    "staging a server"

A server used as a temporary stage to test new or revised Web pages before they are made live.
