    Default Windows updates

Having recently rebuilt my laptop from the ground up following a problem, I am now amazed at the number of Windows updates that keep arriving. Virtually every power down is followed by the usual update message. Are there really that many updates?

    Well hello there RDL! (waves)

I snipped an image of Windows Updates Installed on my Win7 to give you an idea of how many I have installed. There's quite a few! Microsoft Windows alone has (175).

If you think you might be infected with malware or have recently cleansed your computer of malware without the help of an expert, please read and follow the instructions in How to Start Removing Viruses and Spyware from your Computer. This can alleviate time consumed in trouble shooting your current computer problems.

If your problem is solved, here's how to say thanks!

Hi Donna. How's my favourite lady? Thanks for the comment. I'm glad to say the laptop is ticking over nicely but the updates keep arriving. Can't Microsoft get it right first time? Lol

Hm? Get it right the first? They won't know what to do with themselves.

Did SP1 install yet? Click on Start then right click on Computer > Properties. Under Windows Editions look to see if Service Pack 1 is displayed. If not, it hasn't downloaded/installed yet. You could save a lot of time by downloading it to your desk and installing it yourself from here. You should have 1E-10 installed as well to be completely up to date.
