    Default Adobe - General Question

    Hello,
I had heard that back in October there was a large hack of Yahoo accounts and that Adobe was involved. My Yahoo was a part of this but luckily Yahoo locked me out of my account until I answered all my top secret Qs' ...(that I couldn't remember! - I'm old!! )

Anyway, just wondering if it is safe to download the current Adobe updates that keep coming through to the pcs'.

    Cheers!!

    Hi turquoise122,

Since January of this year, Adobe has issued updates for Adobe Reader, Adobe Shockwave Player and Adobe Flash Player. If you have any of those installed the links below will guide you to a secure site for the downloads:

    Adobe Reader for Windows

    Adobe Shockwave Player

    Adobe Flash Player

As always, please pay close attention to uncheck any pre-checked software such as McAfee Security Scan, etc. that may be presented with the download.

I have the Update Checker installed. It will audit the software on your computer(s) and provide a secure download site to receive the download from. You could try it if you wish.

    1. Download and install FileHippo Update Checker.
    2. Click on the green arrow to begin the download.
    3. In the window that pops up click on the Save File button to download the setup file to your desktop.
    4. Click on the setup file found on your desktop to begin the installation (on Vista/Win7, Right click and choose Run as administrator
    5. Click Yes if UAC requests permission.
    6. Select your language and click OK
    7. Click Next > and click I Agree on the License Agreement window that will be presented.
    8. Leave the default Choose Components options as is and click Next >
    9. Make sure that C:\Program Files (x86)\FileHippo.com is displayed under Destination Folder.
    10. Click Install and once installation has completed, click Close.

An icon will appear in your task bar near the clock that looks like this>>
When you hover your cursor over the icon it will display how many updates are needed and when clicked upon will open a web page and provide download links to those updates that are needed.

Let us know if you have any questions or concerns and we'll do our best to answer them.
