    Default Laptop Suspend Mode

I have a new Del laptop running Vista which has started going into suspend mode while I am typing. I have checked the power settings but it hasn't helped. I took it into be evaluated and they could not replicate the problem. I wonder if there might be a hot key that I am hitting in error. I am open to suggestions. This is very annoying.

Please tell us the exact model of the laptop so we can look for a cause and a solution.

Older Dell models used to use Shift-Fn-Esc, but that's difficult to hit in error.

There are a couple of possibilities, one good, one not.

You may have the Power Options in BIOS settings set up to go into suspend after a certain time delay. The same applies to Power Saving Options in Vista - right click on Desktop, select Properties then the Screensaver tab.

The bad option is that your machine is overheating and shutting down to protect itself. Does this happen after a long period of use, or any time?

EDIT..........It's possible that just Fn-Esc is a Suspend hotkey on your model.

    Default Laptop suspend mode

My laptop is a Dell Vostro 1525

This does not just occur after a long period of time.

I will check the Bios when I get back home. My sister acutally uses this laptop.
