The quickest fix would be to do a System Restore to a time before this happened.

Go here and follow all the steps. Step 6, create the Highjackthis log and paste it to this thread and we'll see what's to be seen.

Copy and paste your log to the Help2go Detective and submit. Follow any instructions exactly as given. After that, reboot your PC and see if the problem is fixed. Keep us posted.

If you do mean IE6, click on View in the menubar at the top and open the Toolbars submenu. Make sure each of the installed toolbars is ticked. If they are, you may need to alter the layout to make them visible.
Under Tools, Toolbars uncheck Lock the Toolbar. You'll now see that dividers have appeared. They look like feint grey vertical dotted lines. Hovering over them will make a double-headed arrow appear which means you can drag them to make the area smaller or larger just by holding down the left mouse button and moving the mouse. If the icons are hidden, you should find them in there somewhere!
Once you have everything how you want it, go back and lock the toolbars again.
Good luck.
edit... re: System Restore, it's possible that your restore data is corrupted which could be by malware/virus or even your antivirus program. Have you tried running SR in Safe Mode? If it still refuses to work, you may as well clear the restore cache and start again. To do that, right click on My Computer, select Properties, click on the System Restore tab and tick the box labelled Turn off System Restore on all drives. Click on Apply and OK, then restart the computer.
Once restarted, follow the same route and untick the box to switch SR back on again.Last edited by arraknid; 08-16-2008 at 07:15 AM. Reason: Additional info regarding System Restore.
