    Unhappy old ibm travel laptop drive

    hi
    got problems with ibm travelstar laptop drive. need to find an ide cable. this drive does not have pins. but a flat spade configuration

    what can i do
    as always

    That model laptop used a standard ATA-6 connector which was the norm for laptops built at that time. If you have something different, try contacting the manufacturer of the HD you are removing, or doing a search for its model number on Google.

    Many times there is an adapter that is on the hard drive. The hard drive actually has openings for pins, but the adapter goes into the pin holes and converts it to what you describe. The adapter should come off without too much trouble. Charlie
