For juvevk:
I appreciate your reply. If you have an m9150f then you are well aware of how crowded the interior is. My 8800 would have to completely die before I'd even consider going in there to replace it .
I was dual booting Windows7 RC with the same set of drivers for the 8800 and it booted in a more normal time frame. I have since installed the nVidia Windows7 drivers and get the same results, so I'm looking forward to the Windows7 release. I've pretty much learned to live with it as you said you had.
However it means a little different boot procedure. For instance I come in turn it on, go up to the kitchen and get a cuppa coffee, or some other little 3-4 minute task and then come in and start using the computer.
Have a super day

The RC version is available for free download, see here. It'll also need this update patch.

It runs till March 2010, but you will need a Live account to get the download, otherwise it's free.

Edit @ 930AM: correction you did not replace the PS...but it is still suspect
I have read too many help posts today

============================
Hmmm...you said you replaced the power supply
Just something to think about too
I am just wondering and guessing

Output Power is not always related to watt...it is important to match the PS with the puter mobo...or many times a PS off the shelf may simply be bad
What I am trying to say is HP and Brand names are often proprietary
(The companies want to sell puters and sell their parts too)

When people talk about a power supply's output, they usually say it produces a certain number of watts.
While a convenient shorthand, it is unfortunately both vague and imprecise.

Buying a power supply solely on the basis of its wattage rating would be like buying a house solely on the basis of its square footage, or a car by how many horsepower its engine produces.

In both cases the parameter is an important one, but it doesn't come remotely close to telling the whole story.

If you have a mom & pop shop nearby they can test the PS vs Capacity
Power Supply Loading

Thanks for serving

Do you have a solution...it boots and runs fine ...all drivers work...it is just slower than a turtle @ boot?
