Default How can I change a drive from Dynamic to Basic?

    Hi,

I just bought a WD Caviar Black WD7501AALS SATA hdd. When I went into Disk Management to format the drive, it was set on Dynamic. When I realized it, I stopped the format in order to change it to a Basic drive but the option is grayed out now. Is there anything I can do to change the drive to Basic?

See if this helps; Change a dynamic disk back to a basic disk: Storage Services; Local File Systems

Basically, you need to delete the partition first, then set it up as basic. Charlie

Dynamic is for raw data, Basic is for NTFS file system.
