Is there a message on the blue screen, and if so, what exactly does it say? Also, are you using XP?

i think its the actual sign in screen they are noticing Canuck
Please try the following:
- Shut down the computer and wait 30 seconds
- turn on the computer again, this time pressing the [F8] key once every second till you see this screen: (if you dont get to this screen, reboot and try [F5] )
- choose the option highlighted in the picture, your machine should continue to boot.
- A bluescreen should now appear, with a stop message on it.
Please write down all of the information on that screen, and include it in your next post.
If you dont have that option, or have any other questions/troubles, please post back.

Thats exactly what we need to proceed, now we just have to wait on our resident 'bluescreen tech' to advise you. I'm sure this wont be long.
In the meantime, could you let us know the following:
- Which version of XP it is (home? professional?)
- Which service pack is installed
- If you added or removed any programs, or had spyware problems, imediately before this occurred
- What recovery options you have (I.E recovery disk, genuine XP disk, etc)
- If there are any files you really need from the problem PC
- If the pc you are now using has a CD burner
Please answer as many as possible, as this will save asking in the next few posts as we work to resolve this for you, as well as adding any other information you think may be relevant.
