    Question continous space

    I'm defragmenting my hard drive and i notice that i had little free space but alot of continuous space.What is this ?

    thanks for the reply it does help my understanding. What would you say is the best defrager to use? because my system is running slow right now i'm using system mechanic pro to defrag

    Are you sure?

    My understanding of it is that free space and contiguous space are present on a harddrive... same thing, but slightly different terms. so if you have 20% free space, but 10% contiguous, then that means you have 20 'slots' in every hundred available, but only 10 that run in sequence.

    might help you understand a little better.
