    thanks
I'm dealing with a hdd that is on it's last leg and I'm lucky to be able to access anything on it at this point. hey Zep - I'm really needing someone to walk me through a number of different issues I'm having ... I mean start to finish ... to figure out what my system needs to work properly. Is this an ok venue for that or do I need to hire out? so appreciative of all assists. Evil helped me greatly recently. I've just got myself in a pickle here and don't know where to turn ...
    lmk thanks

Replace the drive & reinstall the operating system.

I'm weak in that area replacing drives, moving a bad drive to a good computer ect, not my area at all.

    Others here are though.

ok - well I'm working on just that ... (although miraculously<sp?> writing to you from the bad drive at present!) ... I've purchased a new drive and began installing OS but discovered prod key no good so my new drive is hung up at that window. thanks anyway zep. anyone else? I just struggle with paying someone else to work on it ... truth is, I don't want anyone else touching my baby. OK, yes, it's my lameass baby that I had no business building in the first place with my limited knowledge, but I still poured lots and lots of money into it and I won't let it be molested by anyone but me ... and perhaps some random help2go brains ... ???????????????

I would think that issue would be addressed to Microsoft help & support.

If you tell us what issues you need walking through, we'll try to help. The ones you list in your first post will be fixed when you do the reinstall, so what else?

It would also help to know what the machine is, laptop or PC, and make and model.
