    Its like this:

On a desktop, i'd say Yey, as you can upgrade graphics later.

This is not so on notebooks (well, most) as the video graphics you get out of the box are there for the machines life.

My last laptop, i bought reletively cheep, with a small harddrive and not much ram, but a good graphics card and processor.

my reasoning? I can upgrade the ram and harddrive, or buy an external.

You need to think now whether you will be using this notebook for just simple tasks such as web browsing, in which case an advanced graphics card is not required.

If your wanting to use it for gaming or graphics/video editing, go with a desktop, or the notebook with the card now.
