Default How do I delete an OS from my computer.....?

in order to install another one? I know you go into DOS but can't remember what I need to type in to erase the old system. Many thanks in advance.

If its anything like XP your going to install, you'd be wiping it twice.

Just set the boot order to boot from disk first, and insert the disk.

Boot as normal, and select the appropriate solution, usually something with destructive reinstallation in the title.

If its another OS your installing, let us know which, and we'll advise more precicely.

Yes it is XP so I will give that a go. I thought I had to uninstall the previous OS system.

    Many thanks for your help.

In the days of Win98 etc this was true, however, nowerdays the installer likes to format the harddrive for you. i *think* it has to do with the more secure NTFS file system rather than the old FAT32 system, but i'm not entirely sure.

Good luck! and remember to get to windows update as soon as you can!
