    Question Microsoft C++ Visual

    I have Microsoft C++ Visual (2005 and 2 copies 2008) on my laptop (running Vista). As my programming days are long sice past can I safely uninstall these versions?
    A little help is worth a ton of sympathy.

    It depends. Some applications and games need to use MSVC as a debugger, as well as some computer management apps as found on HP and Compaq machines. Did you upgrade from XP by any chance? If so, the 2005 version may just be a leftover. If you want to uninstall it, read this, but be sure to set a Restore Point.

    Not sure why you'd have two copies of 2008 version when only one is required, but as they aren't taking up a lot of space, just leave them. if you uninstall, you may suddenly find that an app won't run.

    Default Microsoft C++ Visual

    Thanks. As they are doing no harm and not taking up too much space I'll leave well alone.
