Default prevent clearing browser history in ie 8

my kids computer is running windows xp and for some reason even with removing the general tab in the IE 8 control panel I am still able to delete the history from the address bar, if you place your mouse over an address a red x appears to the far right and if you click it it deletes the address, at work I cannot delete address from the address bar but i am using IE 7. How can I stop this at home?

Just go to Add/remove Programs and uninstall IE8. As long as IE8 wasn't installed as part of SP3, it'll return to IE7.

Next change your Automatic Downloads to Notify me but don't automatically download or install them. Next time you see IE8 in the list, uncheck it and check the box to not download again.

If this is a matter of parental control, there is a better way. Just let us know.
