Just a heads-up if you're looking into this. I just read recently (can't find the article off hand) that one of the problems with some (two top Internet backups that cost $$$ that were tried) that with one of them the author was blocked out of his account and unable to retrieve his data, even with the assistance of the host. The other site he tried, there were problems too. Suggest when you decide on a couple of these sites you do a Google search 'Online backup reviews' or words to this effect.

Canuck,

I can't believe that using Ghost or Acronis anyone could block you out of your image backups onto your externa/internal Hard Drive. I have used these two software image backups for years with never a problem and they have saved me on many an occasion - one just lately on both my systems.

kind regards, and I would like to see that article if possible.

Hi Tallin, I think we're talking 'Internet storage back-up' and not regular backup on a PC. You basically upload a backup to a company on the Internet and when you need a backup you go to that site, sign in and access your saved data. Unless I'm reading this wrong, I think that's what the question is about. Something along this line http://www.storagepipe.com/

Hi Canuck,

You are absolutely right, Changintimes is talking about online storage backup. I am guilty, it went right over my head as I would never consider backing up that way so my mind went straight to image software giving me full control of what happens my end......sorry for the confusion, I will be more careful next time.

My advice would be to put any money online storage would cost to buying an image software program to be fully in control.

kind regards,
