Default Modem connected but can't get to internet

Hi, I have a major problem. In the past 2 days my internet has been wacky. I will be online and all of a sudden when I go to another page it takes me to either a "cant find webpage, check connections" or a plain white page. In the bottom left corner whenever I go to a webpage that works it displays a black clock but when this problem begins it shows a magnifying glass. My connections says Im connected and signal strength is excellent. Even when the webpages dont work it still says connected and signal is excellent. If I reboot the computer it will work fine for about 10-15 minutes and the process begins over and over again. Heres what Ive done so far

1. unplugged modem and router = unsuccessful

2. Ran 3 different spyware scans and they come back fine

3. Flushed dns= unsuccessful

I am lost now. I dont want to buy a new router if its something else. Is there anything that can be done here? Thanks
