    Default Pixel distortions on screen

I have various areas of Windows components showing patterns of flashing purple pixels. I attached a screenprint of part of my Control Panel as an example. Seems to appear a lot where shades are changing. Various windows are impacted, not just 1 app. Any ideas on the cause? I tried a restore point from 2 days before the oddity appeared with no luck. I am leaning toward the monitor driver.

You could try updating the monitor and the video driver, but actually, having seen this sort of thing before, I'd be leaning towards a hardware problem. That could be the video card itself, or the monitor. Depending on the monitor, LCD or CRT, it could be an electronics problem or an internal hardware problem.

If you can, try with another monitor. It'll at least eliminate the monitor.

Do you have a Menu button on your Monitor? One that little hands could have played with? Do you have an Auto (Config) Button?

I did a Google search and found this which may or may not be helpful as it was an issue with a Mac.
