    Default Not Connected To Internet

Have an almost brandnew Acer Notebook, (Windows Vista) I've the thing plugged in and also holding a 100% battery.

I was welcomed & was promptly told "Machine not connected to the internet. " I answer the prompt: get more info. But none is forthcoming.

How can that be? Any help will be appreciated. Thank You.

Thank Heavens I have webtv to get some answers.

How are you trying to connect, via a cable or wifi?

First try rebooting the computer if you have not.

If you have a modem or router connected try unplugging them for 30 sec. Then replug them in and try connecting again.

devmgmt.msc -----------> COPY AND PASTE that into the runbox. When the device manager opens click the + sign next to Network Adapters tell us the name of it. Or if any red errors are present.

Also see the 2 computers in the taskbar down by the the clock. Right click them and troubleshoot problems or repair.
