Is that a question? If so, can you explain further what happened?

Default windows update redirected to microsoft update

Hi, I had ie8 and tried to get rid of the pesky yahoo taskbar, so I uninstalled and reinstalled ie 8. Since then, I cant reach windows update...even on the net I am redirected to microsoft update, so I imagine it has to do with ie8. I'm running winxp 32 bit with sp3 installed. Thanx for answering and have a great day :-)

Try uninstalling IE8 and reverting to IE7. IE8 has been problematic in XP.

Default backtracked to ie 7 but without success

I finally found our how to go back to windows updates. In the microsoft updates page, on the left side, you see modifier les parametres. If you click that and scroll down, you can clck a button to use windows updates instead. Thanx for trying to help and have a great day
