Default Machine Goes into sleep mode and does not want to wake up.

I have a HP machine, just over a year old and running Vista. I have been having trouble lately with the monitor going into sleep mode when I am away and then I canít get it out of sleep mode unless I do a hard reboot.

Also had some trouble with HP auto update coming on and blinking on my system tray and when I would click on it to stop it from blinking it would come up momentarily and before I could do anything the screen would go black and Iíd have to do hard reboot again. I think I may have fixed this part by turning off the auto update but then that is kind of defeating the purpose.

I am just really frustrated with the performance of Vista as I have had so many crashes that I canít wait to dump it and upgrade to Win 7. But until then I really would like to find a way to get this system running better. I did run hijackthis and have the log, but not sure if anything there is the problem. I will post the log below. If anyone can offer any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thank you,
    Jackie

Post your log and follow the instructions---> Help2Go Detective - Free HijackThis Analyzer - Help2Go - free computer problems help and troubleshooting Copy and paste the log into it click submit...

Post a fresh hijackthis log after that. What we can do is clean up the log first and address other issues after such as sleep mode.

well I tried to run a new hijackthis log and it keeps giving me the message "Hijackthis is already running"... so I tried to uninstall it and I get the same message.

    Suggestions?

Right click on an empty area on the Task bar down by the clock when the window opens choose Task Manger , click the processes tab, left click any hijackthis process then choose end process and try to open/Run hijackthis again.

Okay thank you. That seems to have worked but I had to reboot to get it to work.. and then I had to run as an administrator because I was getting an error message the normal way.

Will post the log to the forum as suggested.
