    Default laptop keeps configurating updates

i have a dell inspiron 1525 and when i turn it on before i get to put my password in, my laptop configurates updates and then shuts itself off. when i turn it back on i have to put in my instillation disk and select repair computer, which it does only to go through the configuration process again which in turn leads back to me having to repair it. What updates is it configuring? Windows or Dell? Are you able to boot up into Safe Mode? Which Windows operating system are you using? XP SP3, Vista? Win 7?

Do you have a Windows Installation Disk? If so, you can probably do a startup repair using the System Recovery Options window. Follow Method 2 here.

Try the Startup Repair option first and if that doesn't work, go for the System Restore option and revert the system to a time before you did the update install.

Any Microsoft Vista Installation disk will do, so borrow one if necessary.

If your machine came with Recovery Disks, go here and follow the instructions to get the System Recovery Options window.
