Default Help creating Ad without Photoshop

I won a 1/4 page ad in an online womens business magazine
They said to send the prepared ad in jpeg 300dpi 4"wide x 5" tall

    I don't have Photoshop
I have managed to make a good looking ad by inserting a photo and typing over it ...in Microsoft Word Office 2007 and Publisher 2007
However they only allow it to be saved as a doc.
I tried using MWSnap3 to take a snap of the finished Word ad . It can be saved as a jpeg but the quality really goes down too much.

Windows XP, Inspiron 6000 Dell computer.

Does anyone know how I can make an ad and save it as a jpeg without Photoshop? And how do I figure out the dpi of the finished ad?

Thanks, I am fairly inexperienced but I learn quickly.

Try this online graphics program. It's a clone of Photoshop Elements and will do exactly what you want. It's also free!

Don't bother with the MS Office version you've already done, start again with the options available on that site. The results will be much better.
