    Default floppy drive

Hi! The floppy drive in my Dimension 8200 Dell starts making a clanking sound when I turn the computer on. The computer tries to boot but immediately crashes and keeps that way forever.

    Hi Luisito,

    Welcome to Hep2Go,

Is there a disc in the drive? Sounds like the drive could be going bad. Do you get an error message?

Sounds like something is jammed in the drive, but that shouldnt cause a system crash.

At what stage does the crash happen? do you see or hear anything at all such as system beeps, windows sounds, or anything on the screen at all?

Try booting into safe mode by tapping F8 as the system boots. does that work?

    Which operating system is installed?

    EDIT: Sorry Donna! Crossed post!
