    Default Laptop

My brother gave my mom a laptop. I want to do restore on it to get it back to original settings but he doesn't have the discs anymore. Can I do PC restore on Inspiron E1405 without the discs by pressing the F11 key at start up?

    Thanks

It would need to be Ctrl + F11 as soon as the Dell splash screen disappears from the screen, but I'm pretty sure on that model it's F8. The problem is, F8 also opens other options, so timing is important. Once again, if memory serves me right, you need to press it just as the Dell splashscreen disappears.

If one doesn't work, try the other.
