Default Accessed file infected-Exploit Crimepack Kit

Hi! Tonight when I tried to view my portfolio spreadsheet at Morningstar.com I got a pop up box that said:
    AVG Alert
    Accessed file is infected
    Threat was blocked!
    File name: portfolio.morningstar.com/rtport/reg/allview.aspx
Threat name: Exploit Crimepack Exploit Kit (type 766)

I did an AVG scan of my computer and it found no infections. I got the pop up box with both Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. I am retired and have zero technical skills and no idea what to do. I really need access to my Morningstar spreadsheet. Thanks for any help you can give. BH

I can't find anything on that issue. I did find another poster posting a similar problem at the AVG forum, I would also post there as you wait for a better response from here.

I am thinking could it be an up-date false positive issue? Not sure...

Research on it tells me it's probably not a false positive. You should notify the site's administrator:

    http://www.morningstar.com/Help/Contacts.html

Tell them what webpage you were on, what you clicked on and the exact message AVG gave you.

These kinds of infections will infect vulnerable websites without the owners knowing anything about it until someone notifies them.

Question Same warning at 'Chicago Tribune'

I started getting the same 'Exploit Crimepack' warning on every page of the Chicago Tribune's Web site on Tuesday morning.

Looks like an AVG update problem as it only shows up with AVG, and doesn't appear on the pre-update version. So false positive looks about right.

The advice from AVG is to disable LinkScanner till the patch is released.

    Default Manual update

After stopping here, I decided to manually update AVG. It 'found' an update, applied it, and the problem seems to have disappeared.
