Weird beeping every time I close any window.
Every time I close a window I hear what sounds sort of like a system error beep from the old days when Win 95 and system speakers were still useful. However this sound plays through my sound system(either laptop speakers or a headset), and doesn't occur any other time no matter what I do.
I only noticed the sound yesterday, after I killed my Firefox process in task manager. Once I noticed it, I restarted my system and the sound went away--until I started Firefox....the moment I did, the sound came back as loud as ever.
AVG comes up clean every single day(including today), I have COMODO firewall protecting me and both are completely up to date.
I have included a HJT log just in case:

The following can be fixed with HJT:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] \"C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jusched.exe\"
(Description: Sun Java update scheduler. Checks for updates. Not necessary. Removing this entry will free up a small amount of system resources.)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HotKeysCmds] C:\WINDOWS\system32\hkcmd.exe
(Description: Intel hotkey applet. Unnecessary. Removing this will free up a small amount of system resources.)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WinampAgent] \"C:\Program Files\Winamp\winampa.exe\"
(Description: The WinAmp Agent. This puts a WinAmp icon is your system tray. It is completely unnecessary, and some viruses may hide in this file. Removing this entry will free up a small amount of system resources.)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WinampAgent] \"C:\Program Files\Winamp\winampa.exe\"
(Description: Loads the System Tray icon for the WinAmp media player. Can be used to mantain file associations so programs like QuickTime and RealPlayer don't take over as default player for various media types. Available via Start -> Programs. If you don't use WinAmp constantly, removing this entry will free up some system resources. )
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ISUSScheduler] \"C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService\issch.exe\" -start
(Description: InstallShield updater - not needed at startup. Removing this may free up system resources.)
Also, the entries:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DNS7reminder] \"C:\Program Files\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking10\Ereg\Ereg.exe\" -r \"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking10\Ereg.ini
O4 - HKCU\..\RunOnce: [FFTI] C:\Documents and Settings\Myst\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ll7udeur.default\extensions\{B13721C7-F507-4982-B2E5-502A71474FED}\ffti.exe /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART /DestPath=\"C:\Documents and Settings\Myst\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles/ll7udeur.default\extensions\{B13721C7-F507-4982-B2E5-502A71474FED}\" This one is a leftover from a Skype toolbar for one of their Beta versions. I have a feeling that this may be the cause of the beeping or the above mentioned one which is a reminder to register a Scansoft program.
Fix the above and then let's see if the problem goes away or not.

Ok! I'll try fixing those entries.
Quick question though, is O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Multi File Downloader] C:\Program Files\Multi File Downloader\MultiFileDownloader.exe a safe program or should I get rid of this one too?
I've never heard of it before and suspect it might be some kind of spam/mal/bloat/extortion/ad-ware.

It's related to a program called Software Informer. I couldn't find much on it, either positive or negative. Personally, the less 04 entries the better .. less startup programs (04s) the faster your PC will run. Looking at your 04s, the only ones that really need to be running in the background all the time are AVG and Comodo. Check all the ***.exe on google lookup and decide if they are really needed. You can access them through Start > All Programs, or create a shortcut on desktop if you want them handy.

I've finally restarted my computer having killed the orphan skype entry and it worked!
No more beeping, and no more worrying about mal(et al)-ware.
Many thanks for all the help Canuck! And where does the newborn go from here? The net is vast and infinite.--Major Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell
