    Default Cannot update Adode Reader.

    Hi all,
    When I try to update my Adode Reader I get the error msg "ERROR 1402 Could not open key"

    I have tried reinstalling but I get the samr results?

    Advice warmley welcomed by semi novice.

    Try to remove it manually. See link below.

    Manually remove Adobe Reader (8.x on Windows)

    Here's the link to Update your Adobe Reader once you accomplish to removal of the former version.

    Adobe - Reader 9

    EDIT > I, myself, use Foxit Reader. It is a smaller download. If you choose to install Foxit Reader, please be advised that you will have to uncheck any pre-checked software. Choose custom install.

    Free version download to the left on the page > Foxit Software - Foxit Reader 3.0 for Windows
