    Hi knight1,

Could you please give the exact error code received?

I would run chkdsk to look for any errors just in case. Here's how:

Start > Computer > Right click C: Drive > choose Properties > click Tools tab > Under Error Checking click Check Now

Let us know if any errors are found.

Other members may have advice also so please stay tuned....

EDIT--> Another thought just crossed my mind. Try a disk cleanup and defrag if you haven't lately.

If you think you might be infected with malware or have recently cleansed your computer of malware without the help of an expert, please read and follow the instructions in How to Start Removing Viruses and Spyware from your Computer. This can alleviate time consumed in trouble shooting your current computer problems.

If your problem is solved, here's how to say thanks!

There is nothing in Windows that I am aware of that reports "misalignment" of files. So I agree with Donna, what is the exact error message and what exactly is reporting that?
